Partnership Nicaragua
For the past five years we have been partnering with Verbo church in Bluefields, Nicaragua. Pastor Ed Jaentschke and his wife, Ligia, left Ed’s hometown of Puerto Cabezas in 1986 to plant a church in Bluefields, an urban port city on Nicaragua’s southeast coast. Before the Somoza regime and the Sandinista revolution, Bluefields was a thriving port city with a bustling downtown area. Today, having been ravaged by political corruption and civil war, it is a poor, run-down urban area with shopkeepers, residents, commercial fishing enterprises, and impoverished street kids. In 2007, Verbo Church was able to open a feeding center used as a safe place where 45 kids can connect with caring, Christian adults and receive a hot, nutritious lunch daily.
We continue to partner with Pastor Ed through prayer, financial giving, clothing donations, and annual trips. Check out our vimeo account to see some of the footage of our trips. God is truly moving in Bluefields and throughout Nicaragua, and we are honored to be a small part of that.
