Our music is meant to directly praise God (Father, Spirit, and Son) through both verbal and nonverbal expression and to reveal his glory in its beauty, creativity, and excellence. We choose and/or write songs that are theologically accurate, artistically beautiful, and accessible (subsequently, hymns comprise well over 50% of our songs). Our style varies from band to band and from Sunday to Sunday and sometimes from song to song. We may rock out to a grunge version of “Not What My Hands Have Done” or we may let our violinist flavor a stripped-down, Celtic version of “How Deep the Father’s Love for Us.” Either way, we aim to directly praise and honor God for who he is and what he’s worth via a culturally relevant, musical medium.

this season's fine parade
While preparing for a series on Habakkuk, I felt God leading me to write some new songs out of the book’s themes. Given that I hadn’t written anything decent in over a year – and given that Habakkuk is not an intuitively clear place from which to draw inspiration – it was obvious that every creative outpouring was straight from his Spirit. I therefore decided to spend some time recording this five-song album along with my wife, Emily, in order to provide a medium for these thoughts. The primary themes consider our responses, both good and bad, to hard times. You can find the songs below. (They’re free.)
