RESPONSIBILITIES:
Elder overseeing Mercy Ministry and leading the Red Mill community group
ABOUT ME:
I have been blessed to have been a part of what God is doing here at Crosscurrent since the very beginning, back in September 2002. I first heard about the church through Brad Geary, who I happened to bump into while surfing and the rest is history...I knew this was the place that God was calling me to serve and love. Crosscurrent is also where I met my beautiful wife, Kate. We are fast approaching our 4th anniversary and I am more thankful everyday for our love and our life together. She has been instrumental in the development of my faith, in particular my heart for mercy ministry and social outreach.

RESPONSIBILITES:
Elder overseeing finances, children's ministry
ABOUT ME:
I have been coming to Crosscurrent since December of 2002. Christi and I originally came to the Va Beach area with the Navy and because most of our family is in the Richmond, Va area. Tad Sellers (Christi's cousin) introduced us to Crosscurrent, and when we first started coming, we were still meeting on Sunday nights in Jason's living room. Christi and I were so excited to be involved in a community of believers who were committed to experiencing God everyday in their lives with a strong
desire to share that love for God and each other with the community. Christi and I are blessed to have two wonderful (most the time) boys, Caleb and Bryce. . Christi and I both lived in Richmond, Va before moving onto college. I graduated from the US Naval Academy, and Christi graduated from Nursing School. After spending 5 years as a Supply Officer in the Navy with way to much time away from family, I have just recently transitioned into a new career as a financial advisor with UBS Financial Services, Inc. I enjoy almost anything that requires competition or breaking a sweat. However, triathlons, golf, and soccer are where I spend my free time.
My true passion is to develop a community that desires a life-long relationship with God and their community. I believe that we are all ministers, and my hope is that we are a group of people who are excited about being ministers to their friends, co-workers, family, neighbors. I hope to live my life to exemplify Christ by being intentional in relationships, defining great work ethic, and a commitment to God's commands. My verse that I continue to fall back on for constant reminding and personal drive is 2 Timothy 1:7 - "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of
self-discipline."
