Church Planting
Crosscurrent is privileged to belong to the Acts 29 Network, a peer-to-peer association of churches around the world called and committed to the gospel through church planting, which includes starting and supporting new churches and reviving dying churches. Acts 29 is not a denomination, but a network of like-minded pastors who are dedicated to growing churches that are local biblical communities effectively reaching today’s generations.
What’s with the name? In the book of Acts, we see the Apostles bring the gospel from Jerusalem to Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the world as is commanded by Jesus in Acts 1:8. As the book of Acts continues for 28 chapters, we see churches being established (planted) in cities where the gospel is preached. Acts 29, along with many other church planting organizations, is continuing to follow this missional pattern today. Acts 29 Network is comprised of churches throughout the United States and Internationally in Canada, Ecuador, Guatemala, Thailand, India, and Africa and prayerfully hopes to plant 1,000 new churches in its first ten years. For more information about the Acts 29 Network go to www.acts29network.org.
We encourage you to “get to know” some of the other churches in the network and celebrate what God is doing in many parts of the world through like-minded churches.
